Welcome, Information & Referral
This program's mandate is to promote the various activities offered by the
GMFRC, its programs and services, the resources available within the military
and civilian community, to respond to requests for information and to assist
new families in settling into the area.
Bilingual Services Available
The Information Resource Program provides bilingual information and resources
regarding a wide range of family related issues, as well as community services
and programs available on base, throughout the Oromocto and Fredericton area
as well as across the nation to which a family may be posted; it's a one
stop shop for resources. If we don't have the answer on hand, we will call
you back ASAP with the answer! We will refer you to the appropriate community
service if that is what you are looking for!
Our goal is to find answers to your questions and, in our effort to serve
you, the Centre provides the following:
GMFRC Welcome Program
- If you have just moved to Gagetown, we would like to hear from
you!
As a newcomer, you are welcome with a visit of the Gagetown MFRC while
you sip on some coffee. These visits provide a wonderful opportunity to
find out all about the programs and services offered at Centre, information
on surrounding area while enjoying friendly conversation. We are looking
forward to meeting you, give us a call at 422-2000 ext. 3402.
Community Guide and Calendars
- The MFRC produces an annual newsletter - Oromocto Community Guide and monthly Calendar of events. Our newsletters and calendars are
delivered to the military community (Regular Force, all Reserve Force Classes
who request it). Our newsletters offer a guide to which programs will be
offered throughout the year. The calendars, on the other hand, offer specific
information on timings, costs and location of certain activities. All correspondence
will be sent by the 20th of each month because on this date, we encourage
only military families to register for our programs. On the 27th of teach
month, we open-up our registration to the whole community (civilians.)
Registration must be done at then front desk of the GMFRC with payment
to secure your spot.
Resource Library
- Information Resource Program has an excellent selection
of books English and French covering many subjects. Books are available
on loan for a two-week period free of charge. Drop by and browse...there
is definitely something for everyone! (Click
here to see list of library books in English)
Data Bank
- The MFRC maintains a current database which facilitates
quick and efficient access to community information. We are able to make
referrals to countless resources and services.

can ease the way. Our office can provide information on Canadian Force
