Our preschool programs are designed to provide activities and special events that are both educational and recreational for preschool children and their families. Fun and socialization is the name of the game with a variety of programs to suit specific ages and interests. We offer the preschoolers and their parents in the community an opportunity to develop their creativity to discover the world around them and learn, all while having fun!
On-going Early Childhood Program Calendar for children ages 0 to 5 yrs (not yet in kindergarten)Mondays, 9 – 11 am - Tiny Tots (for babies from 0 to 24 months) – A weekly playgroup & social time dedicated to babies and their parents. Free.
Mondays, 1 – 3 pm - Stay & Play Drop-In – A parentally supervised playtime for children. Come enjoy the GMFRC playroom and toys with friends! 50¢ military / $1 civilian.Wednesdays 9 – 11 am and 1 – 3 pm Playgroup @ GMFRC - A cooperative playgroup for children to play and interact together; while parents/caregivers socialize in a fun environment with their children. Enjoy free-play and snack time with facilitated time of themed stories, circle time and craft. 50¢ military / $1 civilian.
Wednesdays, 9 – 11 am Preschool Gym Drop-In (ages 18 mos to 5 yrs) – Parents let your children use the GMFRC gym equipment. A non-facilitated drop-in program. Parents direct and supervise activity.
Thursdays, 9:30 – 11:30 am Playgroup @ Burton Lions Club - A cooperative playgroup for children to play and interact together; while parents/caregivers socialize in a fun environment with their children. Enjoy free-play and snack time with facilitated time of themed stories, circle time and craft. 50¢ military / $1 civilian.
Fridays, 9 – 11 am Groupe de jeux - A weekly French playgroup for children and parents/caregivers to enjoy together. Enjoy free-play, snack and structured activities facilitated time of themed stories, circle time and craft. 50¢ military / $1 civilian.
Special Preschool Programs
Baby Rhymes
A facilitated program for parents to learn ideas to interact and play
with their babies (9-24 months) through rhymes, songs and stories; as well
as some personal tips. Participants must pre-register.
Parents Time Out (offered to Playgroup Parents)
Parents... you have been asking for this... and we are ready to give it a try!
The last Wednesday of every month, Playgroup will
be offered with a twist. Parent will be given the chance to leave their children in the care of the dedicated child care staff (plus a few parents willing to help) and they will get to have time to chat, make a craft, participate in a special workshop... all child free. Parents must pre-register.
Preschool Ceramics
Enjoy making a special craft with your preschooler. Each session has its own theme. Participants must pre-register.
Preschool Picasso
Monthly programs of seasonal and special themed crafts and activities designed
for little hands. *Participants must pre-register.
Preschool Munchies (2-5 yrs)
Little hands cooking class. Follow the basics picture recipes to produce
tasty snack food. Participants must pre-register.
Preschool & Parent Pool Time
Splash into the Base Gym Pool for a fun preschool swim with your friends from the GMFRC. *Parental participation required. Participants must pre-register at the GMFRC.
Preschool Parties
Have some fun celebrating with your preschool friends at the GMFRC. Watch for special event preschool parties listed in the GMFRC monthly calendars.

for little ones.
July - Preschool Summer Party

A must attend event for young participants (2 to 5 yrs) and young at heart (parents).
Preschool Potlucks
Share favorite recipes, good food and conversation with your friends following some of the GMFRC and Burton playgroups. Watch the GMFRC Calendar for extended playgroup times. Participants must pre-register.
Terrific Toddlers (12 - 24 months)
A monthly program for younger participants. Alternates between a 30 minute music and craft session. Parentally supervised.
Toy Cleaning
Monthly activity to keep toys in good and clean repair. Volunteers required!
